On November 5^th, a Canstruction event was held at CityCentre Plaza where companies built structures out of canned food. At the end of the week and the end of the building of the structures, all of the cans of food were donated to the Houston Food Bank. This fun and generous event inspired our staffing team to do the same.

If you come to our office, don’t be can-fused by the growing castle in our lobby! Throughout November, our staff is collecting cans to build an almost six foot tall and five foot wide castle of canned foods in our lobby. You can follow our progress throughout the month on our social media pages. By December 2nd, we will de-can-struct the castle and take all the items to the Houston Food Bank. We hope to aid the Houston Food Bank in “feed[ing] 800,000 each year”[1] and their aspiration of “expand[ing] service to the community” in order to provide “100,000,000 nutritious meals by 2018.”[2]

Our staff is overjoyed to kick off this holiday season by joining together as team to donate to those in need. One of our Team1Medical recruiters, Shannon Coleman, can-fessed that she is excited to be a part of the process: “The canstruction design provides an excellent opportunity for ExecuTeam to partner with the Houston Food Bank. I’m extremely excited to be a part of this wonderful project!” Shannon’s idea for the canstruction castle was the one voted on by the team out of a number of can-figurations.

Donations of the canned food items are not only encouraged by the generous nature of our team, but also by our competitive spirit that drives us to be the best! Our team is competing with each other to see who will bring the most cans as we can barely can-tain our enthusiasm. Each day the castle grows, and the amount of cans we will be donating is in-can-ceivable!
